Hey all! I'm finally redoing the website for real now! You can head over to http://dev.metalkid.info to check out my progress. I'll slowly get the dev site back to feature parity before pushing it to stage for testing. Then it will replace the root site. Another thing I did was remove Chatango and replace it with Discord. I think it will give us all a better experience. Finally, I paid a bit of money and now you can use https for the main site at https://metalkid.info if you'd like. Once the new site is finished, it will force all pages to https automatically. I hope you are all as excited as me! :)

Was reading my news over the last 5 years. It looks pretty pathetic. I haven't been able to finish anything new in almost 7 years. Don't hold your breath. I'm working on a new programming style and a code generator for it. If it goes well I may be ambitious enough to redo the site then. I really want to, honest!

Hey all. The site re-write is looking like it'll be around the October-November time frame. Too many work related things are taking over my free time for me to be able to focus on this. My only hope is that when I finally do get back to redoing the site, people will still come back to it! :)

Update: I'm still working on the database. I had to design it in a way to support new data for new games easily (without altering data from previous games to fit) and support multiple languages. I'm going to release the database (SQL Server) as a download on the site so anyone can use it.

Just wanted to let people know that I finally have time to work on the site again! Yay! I have all the Pokemon data ready to be put into my database. Thus, I'm working on building the database now. Once that is done, I'll be able to start working on the actual site! :)

Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that I am currently working on a new version of the site. I have the general layout finished and am adding some bells and whistles to the design. The menu will work on all devices, including touch-only. You will have full control over the Theme with the ability to create, save, and even share your themes with others. There will be a built in chat on the site (Rooms, PMs, logs, etc), along with Chatango for those that want it. The site will have the most in-depth Pokedex search on the Internet! (Pokemon that learn these move(s) with this Ability that is Strong to Fire, Weak to Water, with min Def Base stat of 89 would be possible.) IV Calculator will get a big face lift and I'll make a YouTube video on how to use it. The Pokemon League will be built into this site with a map to explore and fight Gym Leaders, a tournament, Elite 4, and a Champion! There will be a gym for every type. The league system will also be able to support multiple leagues (not right away), so many people can create/run their own leagues! This is ambitious, but I'll have a lot of time to work on it over the next week or so!

Hey all! My wife decided to go back to school to be a teacher, so my schedule ended up being even tighter than before. This probably means I won't be able to get a new site done before Pokemon X/Y. (A shame, too. The IV Calculator is going to get a sweet overhaul, making it usable offline and also auto calculating whenever you change a number.) The only good news I have is that I will update the current IV Calculator with all the new Pokemon numbers as soon as they become available (I will MAKE time for this update no matter what).

If you see this message, then www.metalkid.info is now on a new host! It costs half of my old host and is better in every way! It has unlimited space/bandwidth, I can have 25 databases up to 10 gig each, and I now have a test area that you can all go to see the latest build of the new site I'm building! It is at http://stage.metalkid.info Right now, most of the Digimon section works and also Other -> Theme has some nifty functionality. Feel free to investigate! :)

Looks like someone was able to hack the site via the Digimon World 2 pages. Thus, I removed that entire section. They couldn't get the database, but could take over those pages and redirect you to a malware site. From what I can tell, I believe a Google bot found the vulnerability. They injected code into some javascript files I had in the Digimon directory. I am currently rewritting the site in MVC 4, so Digimon World 2 data won't be available until then.

Hello, everyone. I know I haven't been around much. I've been busy with work and a child. I wanted to let you know that I was able to get all the Digimon sprites put together for Digimon World 2. I don't have time to add them directly to the site, so I'm uploading them to http://www.metalkid.info/Digimon/Sprites.zip It is a 24 meg file with 4 side views of all the Digimon in the game!

While you are waiting for me to get my sorry ass in gear to redo site and give you interactive Pokemon League, you can start battling now at a forum hosted by players that frequent this site. It is located at http://z13.invisionfree.com/MK_League/index.php?act=idx Everything you do will be moved into the league when I get it finished. The league will automate a lot of tedious things and allow you to travel around on our own map! (Maybe even a few other cool features in the future...) I'm also working on creating my own chat system. I will have complete control over everything about it. I'll be able to look at the logs and give both Ban and Kick support. It'll be tied to your user name you use to log into this site with. Chatango will still be here, so don't worry about losing it! :)

Oh, I also forgot to mention that I plan on making a mobile version of this site, too! That means if you connect to the site with some sort of mobile device, the UI will change based upon that (more user friendly).

I'm learning how to code in Android for work. I may try to port my IV Calculator to Android because of it. I am also planning on redoing this site a bit. It is organized rather poorly and I want to expand into other things than just Pokemon. Also, I don't want to screw up my existing data whenever a new Pokemon comes along. I plan on getting EVERYTHING working (including the league) up and running before I push it online. The general layout of the site won't change all that much (might be prettier). Finally, I'm going to try to code a javascript only IV Calc (like Serebii's, only it won't suck) so people can use it offline. :)

Hey all. I've gotten sucked into Dragon Quest Monster: Joker 2 and am working on the database for that. I'm pretty far. I will be changing the site slightly to make it so that each game is under a dropdown menu and that each game has its own menu items across the top. For example, instead of seeing News, Pokemon, Digimon World 2 when you are on the Pokemon site, you would see Menu, Pokedex, Calculators, etc.

Hey all! I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm still working on the league. I may have just finished the last of the Administration part of the site in order to setup leagues! (Yes, the way everything is setup, this site can support multiple leagues running at the same time!) I will try and upload the changes tonight (CST) and try to get all the Towns, Gyms, and Badges setup. Then we'll see if we can get all the different routes entered from town to town. Once all the information has been entered, I can start working on trying to get the actual league pages up and running!
